The Preserves of Sun'n Lake

The Preserve of Sun ‘n Lake is a unique parcel of property located in sections 6,7, and 18, T33, R28E, on the western border of Highlands County. It is part of a contiguous natural area and is connected to Silver Lake CARL site.

The main objective of the management of the property is to provide long term enhancement of wildlife resources and understory vegetation. Much of the Preserve is classified as wetlands; large stands of longleaf pine, cypress, native slashpine, and various hardwoods are present throughout the site. Several ponds and marshy areas are also scattered within the property

Bird watching, fishing, hiking and bicycling are popular on this 1350-acre site.

No hunting, overnight camping, open fires, or vehicular access is allowed. No public facilities.

Directions: From US 27 turn onto Sun ‘n Lake Blvd. Take Sun ‘n Lake Blvd. to end, ( Balboa Avenue ). The parking lot to the Preserve is just off to the right.
